Woolpert, Inc. is looking to hire a Remote Sensing Research Scientist to join our growing team in geophysical sensing and signal processing. The candidate will be responsible for research and development of sensor-related technology for ISR applications. A strong understanding of electromagnetic/electro-mechanical/optical detectors and detection processes and specialized experience in directing and managing scientific research projects is required. Essential duties and responsibilities include development of sensor systems, data exploitation for detection and discrimination of explosives and characterization of the physical environment, providing test and evaluation support for research and engineering projects involving improved airborne remote sensing methodologies, handheld and/or vehicle-based sensor processing approaches to enhance system functionality through simulation, analysis, and experimentation.

Job Requirements

Education, training, experience:
|
|
|
Successful candidate will have Masters or PhD in Physics, Geophysics, Electrical/Mechanical/or Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Photogrammetric Engineering or closely related discipline with a strong background in computational methods to include data processing, visualization, and modeling of electrical, electromagnetic, or optical signals in the ocean, earth, or atmosphere. Excellent oral and written communication, publication, and client interfacing skills required. Candidate must be a U.S. citizen capable of obtaining a DoD security clearance. Travel required.
