Responsibilities
• Work with the project team to define functional requirements and estimate completion times in a goal-setting environment. • Design, develop, test and maintain GIS based Desktop, Mobile and Internet-based applications within a supportive and mentoring environment. • Creates and performs unit and integration testing and supports system acceptance testing. • Create application user documentation, technical documentation, programmer's manual and end user's guide. • Provide configuration management, database administration, and software architecture. • Research and prototype new technologies that improve efficiencies or offer valuable new services for our clients and coworkers.

Job Requirements

Education, training, experience:
|
|
Bachelor’s or master’s in computer science, information technology, or related field. • At least 2 years of professional experience. • Strong object-oriented analysis, design and programming skills • Strong experience with one or more of the following programming languages and technologies: VB.Net, C#, ASP.Net, ADO.Net, Python, JavaScript, AJAX and Web Services with emphasis on C# or VB.NET, ASP.Net with Visual Studio 2005/2008 for the desktop and web. • Possesses a thorough understanding of web development. • Professional experience with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server with emphasis on design, implementation and use of relational and spatial databases. • Professional experience developing desktop, web and/or mobile applications using the ESRI product suite including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Sever, Web ADF, Mobile ADF, ArcSDE, and other GIS products is highly desired. • Experience with Silverlight and/or Flash, ActionScript is beneficial. • Experience with Google Maps API, Bing, MapServer, OpenLayers, PostgreSQL, PostGIS is beneficial. Recommended Qualifications • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills. • Possess clear and effective communication skills (verbal and writing). Technical writing experience is a plus. • Should be very creative and be able to lead different initiatives on his/her own as well as in a team environment where communication and coordination is essential. • Should be able to work in a project focused, highly flexible environment with individual responsibilities for deliverables and schedule.
