Job description:

|
|
Will be responsible for the development of both desktop and web-based GIS applications. Will assist in the development of GIS-based tools for various state departments of transportation and federal agencies. Will also perform GIS analyses in support of ongoing planning and engineering projects. Uses GIS tools to perform complex spatial analysis for projects. Responsible for all phases of the application development process including Module Design and Build, Testing/Debugging, Data Collection/Transfer, Documentation, Implementation, and Post Implementation Support. Provides assistance in developing GIS implementation plans for clients. May provide support to GIS Manager during a requirements analysis phase of a GIS Strategic Plan and leading system architecture design, data modeling and system implementation planning. Develops and deploys desktop and server-based applications for clients.

Education, training, experience:
|
|
|
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Information Technology, or related field and three years' relevant experience, including good understanding of basic cartographic techniques and GIS Science. Proficient with ESRI and/or Intergraph GIS software. Ability to use Visual Studio.Net languages to develop GIS-based desktop and web applications using C#, Visual Basic, javascript, ASP, Silverlight. Must have working knowledge of databases such as SQL Server and Oracle and have ability to construct metadata for all projects. Effective verbal and written communications are required including ability to constructively review and edit written work
