Job Description


The sales engineer will assist in sales and marketing with technical information and documents for sales support, content creation, webinars, and trade shows. For this particular position, we are also looking for web development skills that can assist our growing partner and integrator network that access imagery and data through APIs.

A typical day for you may look like this…

Become a trusted advisor by utilizing your technical expertise and understanding of solutions to actively engage in strategy and client messaging
Partner with US prospects and customers to understand their business constraints and requirements, and recommend the best product solution
Understand content delivery requirements, and advise on the best delivery method for customers to get the most value from content and products
Builds relationship with key customer stakeholders serving as a technical liaison from pre-sales to post-sales
Partner with the US sales team and provide technical cross-functional training and support, customer demos and presentations
Creating technical demonstrations and documents for presentation to the customer describing the benefits of proposed solution
Help with advising and troubleshooting partner and customer use of APIs for application development. Advise them on the best API to choose, the optimal method to retrieve information and diagnose problems.
Help the customer choose the best product to use to meet their requirements. This could be ortho imagery, obliques, or 3D products.  The Pre-Sales team also needs to have a deep understanding of when and where to use these products.
Assist the Sales Team with pricing and packaging of unique deals
Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams, as required, communicating customer and prospect feedback
As necessary, assist sales and marketing with the development of technical content for webinars and trade shows
Work closely with the Product and Engineering team to help develop new products and delivery methods
Partner with Survey Operations regularly to process offline orders and optimize our coverage plan to meet customer needs


More about what you need to bring…

3+ years’ experience in a customer-facing sales engineer or support role
Relevant education, a degree in a field such as GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or Engineering
Working knowledge and experience of 2D and 3D mapping content
Web development and programming experience – specifically API access, Javascript, JSON, image retrieval and processing, conversion of coordinates
GIS/Geo-Spatial/Imagery experience 
Understanding of the principles of Photogrammetry
Gift of making a completing sales argument to sell value
Strong time management and organization skills
Confidence in public speaking and presenting to customers
An entrepreneurial spirit
Creative and critical thinking skills to unlock the full potential of how the product stack can be used to solve complex issues
