Job Description


GeoSearch, Inc. is looking for a talented and motivated DevOps Engineer with strong engineering skills to join our team! This position requires extensive AWS, Jenkins, and Gitlab experience. Knowledge of complex Jenkins job configuration is necessary including multibranch jobs and interdependencies. As we continue to build out Jenkins and adding modules, planning for sizing, branch maintenance and architecture will be essential. Candidate requires ability to establish and maintain a cloud development environment and create an automated build pipeline. With respect to AWS, advanced knowledge beyond VPC setup and installs is required. AWS Networking and connectivity expertise in the SC2S environment is necessary. Thorough knowledge of RHEL 7.X, AWS storage strategies and configuration, docker architecture/functionality, and Cloud DevOps Pipeline interface with AWS VPC is necessary.

The Devops Engineer will collaborate with software developers, system operators and other IT staff members to manage code releases. Candidate will cross and merge the barriers that exist between software development, testing and operations teams and keep existing networks in mind as they design, plan and test. The DevOps Engineer will help to implement and support tools across automated building, security scanning, testing monitoring and deployment.

The DevOps Engineer assembles and integrates technology across disparate platforms as well as codes and configures and uses tools such as Jenkins. The DevOps Engineer requires a good understanding of systems, data structures, modern scripting, and enterprise level requirements and tools that solve problems to support the Government in a culture of continuous integration and continuous delivery. The candidate must be motivated, self-starting, and able to work well within a team environment.

Responsibilities
DevOps Engineer Responsibilities

- Support tools in a continuous integration pipeline to automate and/or scale deployment of capabilities
- Maintain DevOps using modern CI/CD pipelines and tools like AWS, Jenkins, and Docker
- Create scripts and templates to build cloud-based development and system deployments
- Work with government delivery platform architects on software and system optimization, helping to remove potential performance bottlenecks
- Write test scripts, in an agile software development environment, where built-in automated test procedures are paramount and continuous integration of software and continuous delivery of software
- Deploy and maintain applications in AWS and other deployment environments as needed
- Perform evaluations on applications and improve their accuracies and efficiencies
- Recommend improvements to existing software applications as necessary

Job Requirements


DevOps Engineer Required Qualifications & Skills

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering Applied Mathematics, or related field
- TS/SCI with Poly
- Automated build tools such Jenkins, Travis CI, or Bamboo
- Knowledge of complex Jenkins job configuration is necessary including multibranch jobs and interdependencies.
- Management of AWS cloud Infrastructure and AWS Networking and connectivity expertise in the SC2S environment
- Knowledge of RHEL 7.X, AWS storage strategies and configuration, docker architecture/functionality, and Cloud DevOps Pipeline interface with AWS VPC
- Networking security, databases and cloud systems
- Linux administration
- Software administration, with expertise in at least one preferred scripting language such as Python, PHP, or Perl
- Containerization platforms (e.g. Kubernetes, PKS, and Docker)
- Git repository management with GitLab, Stash, or BitBucket
- Automation and testing software suites such as Selenium or Junit
- Understanding of agile and other development processes
- Demonstrated experience with software process automation with popular scripting languages
- Demonstrated experience with build, release, and configuration management in a CI/CD environment
- Knowledge in operating system administration, programing languages, cloud platform deployment and networking protocols

DevOps Engineer Desired Qualifications & Skills

- MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
- Architecture and Management of enterprise systems in AWS
- Experience with artifact repositories Nexus, Artifactory, or S3
- Knowledge of Fortran and Fortran Compilers
- Security+ certification
