A GIS Analyst is responsible primarily for data-related activities like metadata extraction, conversion between CAD and GIS, and field data collection with GPS-enabled apps like Collector; for configuring various ArcGIS apps like Collector, story maps, and operations dashboards; for helping our clients to get going with ArcGIS Online; and for providing first level support to our Enesgy® software clients. You will work with our staff, subcontractors, partners, or directly with our clients.

Responsibilities:
• Provide billable GIS Analyst service hours to our clients on-site in Downtown Los Angeles and off-site, as needed
• Create maps using ArcGIS Pro (or ArcMap) and using a GIS Web site
• Edit and use feature classes in an ArcGIS Enterprise geodatabases, and hosted feature layers in ArcGIS Online
• Import and export GIS data between an enterprise geodatabase and CAD drawings, following previously established procedures
• Configure and maintain ArcGIS Story Maps, Operations Dashboards, Collector and Survey 123 apps, etc.
• Collect field data using a GPS-enabled data collectors, then clean the data and incorporate it into the geodatabase
• Perform quality assurance on data prior to importing it into GIS
• Extract, record and maintain metadata from documents and drawings
• Maintain procedural documentation
• Help to maintain previously established GIS web sites by learning and following previously established procedures
• Assist clients in using GIS web sites, and promote their use through formal and ad-hoc training
• Maintain strong, healthy relationships with staff and external stakeholders
• Learn the Enesgy Documents software and provide customer a first level of tech support
• Perform related duties as assigned

Job Requirements


Required Skills
• Proven 2-4 years of recent paid experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS for Desktop (preferably ArcGIS Pro), using either an enterprise geodatabase (ArcGIS Enterprise) or a cloud-hosted one (ArcGIS Online)
• Experience in spatial data creation, editing and conversion using ArcGIS and preferably loading into an enterprise versioned geodatabase (versus a personal or file-based geodatabase)
• Hands-on experience with GPS data collection, processing and handling
• Ability to work alone for extended periods while remaining motivated, efficient, and innovative – but also be able to switch into a larger team setting on other occasions
• Excellent English, both written and spoken and comfort communicating with a variety of clients, staff and other professionals – we mean it!
• Bachelor’s Degree in GIS-related field with a GIS concentration or with a GIS certificate
• Ability to inspire confidence in your technical abilities to our clients
• Ability to communicate in an engaging and professional manner

Required Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in GIS-related field with a GIS concentration or with a GIS certificate
• Two to four years of current, paid professional experience with Esri software
• Some experience in working with AutoCAD drawings (reading, interpreting and/or converting)

Preferred Skills
• Special experience with ports, or water or wastewater utilities, or commercial property management
• Experience with ModelBuilder, Python Scripting
• Experience with CAD software, especially AutoCAD
• Experience with providing tech support to others
• Experience with document management systems

Preferred Education and Experience
• Postgraduate GIS degree or certificate, GISP certification, Esri Certification or other recent GIS-related training
