Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Sales, the overall goal of this position is to grow new sales revenues, execute a sales strategy, manage account activities, managing key accounts, all in accordance with the Client’s business plan.

The experienced Account Executive will work collaboratively to develop business and sell aerial LiDAR and orthoimage services to Commercial clients within the utility, forestry, wide-area, emergency management, municipal, state, federal sectors. As part of the account team, you will be responsible for the development and execution of strategies that meet the client's business development objectives. We are interviewing for East and West coast territories.

Key Position Objectives
• Establish a network within the Commercial sector selling airborne Topographic and Bathymetric LiDAR and Orthophotography across sectors such as Utilities, Forestry, LiDAR, Transportation and Emergency Management, focused on decision-makers in order to develop business-related to remote sensing and geospatial services within that network
• Prospect and develop opportunities to contract/partner with clients who have a need for remote sensing and geospatial solutions
• Clearly articulate the strengths and value proposition of the client
• Develop and maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities for business growth
• Adjust sales strategy to meet financial objectives
• Demonstrate a thoughtful understanding of industry knowledge and how remote sensing and geospatial solutions apply to initiatives and trends in our market segments
• Understand the key business drivers within an organization and identify key business stakeholders
• Understand the client’s budgeting and acquisition processes
• Successfully execute the account management process including account prioritization, account resourcing, and account planning
• Work closely with program managers regarding products and understanding internal processes, factors, and challenges to establish client scope and deadlines
• Leverage and lead a team consisting of pre-sales engineering, estimating, proposals, technical, and other cross-company resources to define and execute an account strategy
• Manage the preparation and delivery of proposals, as well as responses to RFPs and RFQs
• Provide regular updates and management of clients, opportunities with the company’s the CRM Database
• Interact and collaborate with the planning team and technical staff on a regular basis
• Aid in the preparation and delivery of presentations
• Travel as required to meet clients and attend industry events throughout US and Canada
Education and Experience
Must have successfully completed a program in business administration, marketing, engineering, Remote Sensing or GIS from a recognized post-secondary institution and have several years’ experience in the industry. Equivalent education and experience will be considered. A strong working knowledge of remote sensing applications and products, and experience in sales or account management an asset.

Additional requirements include:

• Five or more years of senior management/leadership/sales experience providing geospatial data or technology solutions to clients or other type of sales to the Utility sectors.
• Understanding of remote sensing data acquisition technologies, enterprise-level GIS platforms, geospatial applications development, integrated geospatial solutions, and how they relate to Utilities
• Ability to adapt to new technology trends and translate them into solutions that address client needs
• Experience managing large projects and/or initiatives
• Demonstrated understanding and mitigation of competitive threats
• Demonstrated experience with leading high-level/executive engagements
• Excellent presentation, white boarding, and negotiation skills including good listening, probing, and qualification abilities
• Knowledge of the sectors’ finances, budgeting, and procurement cycles
• Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, technical writing abilities
• Excellent customer service, time management, and project organization skills
• Effective problem solving and decision-making skills
• Experience with negotiating contracts and business agreements

Working Conditions
• There is a requirement for occasional overtime
• Overnight travel required throughout the US and Canada
